Temperature deviation

What this means

Last reviewed 2026-09-06.

What this measures

How far your overnight skin temperature sat from your own recent overnight baseline, as a signed difference. It is a difference and never an absolute temperature, so there is no number here to compare with a thermometer.

How your device works it out

Your device reads skin temperature at the wrist or finger through the night and compares it with a baseline it built from your own previous nights. The baseline belongs to the provider, takes a couple of weeks to settle, and is why the screen shows nothing until it has.

What generally moves it

Room temperature, bedding, alcohol, a hot bath before bed, hormonal cycles, and how tightly the device sat against your skin.

Why Thriverence shows it

It is context beside the other overnight inputs. A night away from your own baseline is worth seeing next to your sleep and heart-rate variability, which is the only place this product asks you to read it.

What it is not

This is not a fever reading and it is not taken at your core. It does not detect infection or illness, it is not used to diagnose anything, and a deviation is not a finding about your body. If you feel unwell, a thermometer and the resources below are the right places to go.

This explanation is the same for everyone who reads it. It is about the measurement, never about your own readings.
